Cain sat and stared out the window of the carriage. He was still mad at Chemical. Not only had he taken him from the monastery long before the agreed date, but he had also burned it to the ground and killed the high priest while thinking he was some kind of savior… At the end of Cain's mentorship, Chemical forced him to stay at the monastery in Buxfield against his will. Cain had cried and begged for him not to leave him there, but Chemical had done so anyway. Cain had never completely understood the reason why, and Chemical had never properly explained. He claimed it was a part of his education, but that had been a lie, Cain was sure of it. He had been hidden. Chemical's explanation didn't hold up and the doors to the gateways in his mind containing those thoughts were thick and impenetrable.
